A CHIPINGE man who had recently bought a Toyota Mark II vehicle died on the spot when his car rammed into a stationery bus in the early hours of Sunday.

Chipinge District police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Jowert Kamera, confirmed the accident, saying Blessing Karidza (24) of Gaza suburb was travelling from Mutare when he attempted to overtake a truck and lost control of his vehicle.

He rammed into a Devine Stars bus near Glowlight Service Station and died on the spot.

Witnesses said the accident occurred around 2am on Sunday.

“The driver was alone and as he approached a hump near Glowlight Service Station, he overtook a truck. He lost control of the vehicle and it rolled several times before ramming into a stationery bus.

“Police attended the scene together with the Chipinge Town Council Fire Brigade and managed to remove the deceased’s remains which were trapped in the wreckage,” said Mr Amon Chikwetu who witnessed the accident.
