TALENTED yet underrrated musician, Progress “Mangerengere” Chipfumo and budding sungura ace, Brian Samaita will take turns to entertain music lovers in potentially-explosive gigs slated for Club Mandisa this weekend.

Samaita will serenade fun lovers tonight (Friday), while the Sounds of the Motherland front-man, Chipfumo will perform tomorrow (Saturday).

Although this will be the first time for Chipfumo to perform at the venue, he is ecstatic. He promised to deliver a fine performance that he would win the hearts of the new audience expected to throng the venue.

Chipfumo will sample songs from his forthcoming eight-track album, “Dai Ndaiziva”.

“I know I will be playing in front of a new audience, but I will put up a top drawer performance. Performing in Mutare again is, however, refreshing. My camp is ready for the gig. I will take the opportunity to sample some of the tracks to be contained on my forthcoming album to be released next week. We will also blend the new tracks with the old ones,” said the Mangerengere hit-maker.

Some of Chipfumo’s danceable tunes include Mai Makanaka, Garwe, Kuraper Mwana and Ngwena. His albums include “Tsiurika, Ndinovatenda Nei?”, “Let Them Know and Hold My Hand”.

Chipfumo’s music is a blend of deep and powerful lyrics with unique instrumentation that easily captivate listeners. Both artistes will be supported by resident dance ensemble, Mandisa Queens and Kings.

Rising sungura artiste, Brian Samaita whose recently-released album, “Kumaziva ndadzoka” has received tremendous airplay, will officially launch the project tonight.

The newly-assembled Murondatsimba Express will be hoping to woo the hearts of many critics who believe Samaita was and is still riding on his late associate and inspiration Tongai Moyo’s back.

The new album has been described by many as his best ever in terms of compositions and instrumentation.

The five-track album, which was produced by veteran music producer, Bothwell Nyamhondera, features gospel sensation, Agatha Murudzwa and Utakataka Express chanter, Gift “Shiga-Shiga” Katulika.

Tracks on the album are “Ndizvo Here”, “Usatuke Mvuu”, “Ndave Kuenda”, “Ndinokutendai” and “Jerusarema”.

“We are excited. It is a show that we have been waiting for. We like to urge our fans to come in their numbers and witness our performance as we launch our new album for the first time in Mutare. Murondatsimba Express now comprises youthful band members who need this exposure. So this is a perfect platform for them to shine,” said Samaita.

Next weekend, the popular entertainment centre will host one of the most celebrated Zim-dancehall chanters, Seh Calaz.
