HEIR to the Dendera throne, Sulumani Chimbetu will sample songs from his forthcoming album while Jah Prayzah will rekindle the romance with his fans in Mutare when they clash at The Platinum, formerly Pick and Save tonight (Friday).

This is the first time in so many years the two revered artistes will be performing together at the venue. The potentially-explosive gig will see Harare-based afro jazz diva, Ammie Jamanda curtain-raising for the two country’s top artistes.

Jamanda is currently riding high with the song “Ruvarangu”, which features Chimurenga music godfather, Thomas Mapfumo. Other fine songs under her belt are Ndozvidemba and Mwari ndipeiwo murume.

The show starts at 8pm.

Sulu, who coming on the backdrop of his highly successful project tittled Jamboree said he was excited to perform in the eastern border city where he commands a huge dendera fan base.

“This will be an exciting outing. We are ready to rekindle our special relationship with our legion of fans in Mutare. We have a lot in store for the show and we are urging people to come in numbers and be part of the jamboree. Sharing the stage with Jah Prayzah away from home is also refreshing. We have new songs that we are going to play in full for our fans,” said the Alice Mbewe hit maker.

He is expected to belt songs from his late father Simon’s rich discography such as Magobo, Samatenga, Saina, Rudo ibofu and Chautah. Some of Sulu’s songs from the forthcoming album that he is going to sample include “Bvuma Kusara”, “Socks”, “Kwazuvai Mambo”, “Mai Soko” and “Ndunge”.

Jah Prayzah is currently rocking the musical scene with a successful album “Chitubu” which carries chartbuster tracks such as “Follow me”, “Kide”, “Dzamutsana”, “Chigunduru” and “Kumahumbwe”.
