IN a gory incident linked to ritualism, a Chimanimani man allegedly struck a mentally challenged man with a machete and killed him instantly before mutilating his private parts, heart and arms.
The incident, which has set tongues wagging, occurred in Munaka village under Chief Chikukwa on Monday.
The suspect Victor Dinga (24) allegedly struck Cephas Mubarenyana twice on the neck with a machete and killed him on the spot.
Dinga allegedly dragged the victim’s body for about 15 metres and mutilated Mubarenyana’s private parts, arms and heart.
His also plucked out his two eyes in an act many have associated to business-enhancing rituals.
Manicaland police spokesman Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa confirmed the suspected ritual murder and arrest of Dinga.
He said police have also recovered the murder weapon and mutilated body parts.
A video of Dinga showing the mutilated body parts at a police station has since gone viral on social media.
