UPCOMING gospel artiste, Freddy Chakanyuka, marked his return to the gospel music scene after a year-long sabbatical by releasing a six-track album, Soon Coming: Rapture.

The album carries six soulful, yet danceable tracks which are aimed at uplifting souls of the dejected and downtrodden.

Tracks contained on the album are ‘‘Ivai Nesimba’’, ‘Hossana’, ‘‘Panyika’’, ‘‘Gwayana’’, ‘‘Mutsvene’’ and ‘‘Tichasangana’’.

‘‘Ivai Nesimba’’ motivates listeners to wear the “amour of God” and be spiritually equipped to fight the devil and his numerous evil machinations.

The song, ‘‘Panyika’’, is a potential hit which reminds people to pray for their future, urging them not to relax since this world is only a temporary home.

Chakanyuka urges listeners to find comfort and strength in God especially during trying times.

“Sometimes people tend to lose hope and despise God whenever they encounter problems, but we urge them to pray fervently and have faith in him even when all hope is gone,” said band manager, Evangelist Mukonorwi.

He added that they would soon conduct promotional shows across the country to market their album.

If well-marketed, the album is set to scale the youthful gospel artiste to dizzy heights.

He draws inspiration from revered gospel aces, Blessing Shumba and Mathias Mhere.

The band, Touch of Grace comprises six band members, who include, lead vocalist, Chakanyuka, manager and drummer, Mukonorwi, lead vocalist, Pastor Freddy Chakanyuka, Angeline Mungana and Sthembile Masunde.

It was recorded and produced at Kunashe Studios by local producer and keyboardist, Olin Anderson.

Mukonorwi said they were working on releasing a DVD album to accompany the project as an early Christmas present for their fans.
