EASTERN Region Division One outfit Buffaloes FC chairman Tendai ‘Wabambo’ Chitowa, who has served his three-year term, has quit the post at the army outfit.

An elective meeting was supposed to be held on Wednesday to appoint Chitowa’s successor but it was postponed to April 3.

Chitowa joined the army side in 2011 and the following year he was elected the team’s secretary general, a post he held for three years.

In 2016, he took over from the late Hlanganiso Matangaidze as the chairman. He is a former captain in the Zimbabwe National Army.

“I have served my three year term. A new chairman was supposed to be elected on Wednesday but the AGM did not take place. It was shifted to April 3.” he said.

Chitowa has high hopes that Buffaloes FC will be back to winning ways and become a force to reckon with.

Ndombolo, as Buffaloes FC is fondly referred to, will be using Mutare Showground as their home ground this season instead of Vengere. Training is going on with the club’s former defender Dananai ‘Mambo’ Chinowawa as head coach.

Chinowawa is yet to choose his assistants
