BLABBERMOUTH: For the gospel or for the minerals? Towntalk with Blabbermouth

The ManicaPost

WHAT is this that we hear about these other two prominent men of the cloth who have been suspiciously frequenting our beautiful city in the recent past?

Yours Truly is aware that this piece will not go down well with our dear brothers and sisters, their followers who see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil about these prophets.

While l all thought that their frequent visits to our picturesque part of the country were all about spreading the word of God, it was not long before l learnt about their other ulterior interests in our mineral rich province.

Blabber will not delve into issues relating to the particular mineral they are circling as well as the cleanliness or dirtiness of their modus operandi for now, but let it be known that there is more to their visits than just the Word.

Far from the issues of these prophets who are also men of flesh and blood like all of us, Blabber feels the need to give a reminder to all and sundry that let us try to treat each other well, even when we are in positions of authority.

After all, our prime purpose in this life is to help others. If we cannot help them, at least let us not hurt them!

These thoughts kept lingering in Yours Truly’s mind after noticing how some former senior law enforcers are now surviving out of the trade they used to criminalise and descend hard upon.

One of our dear brothers who was an authority in that other department that deals with signals, whose name is reminiscent of that other gospel musician whose nudes once went viral, is now feeding his family from mushikashika proceeds.

He now wakes up and takes a bath very early everyday, not to report for duty in those feared offices he used to roam back then, but for a long hard day’s work while driving up and down the city to that other gold mining area in the peri-urban part of the city.

We all know how he used to go beyond the limits of law in terrorising those in the trade back then when he was still in the force.

Then there is this other one who used to move around on a dude bike, many recall how ruthless he was.

Today, these once feared former law enforcers are now good friends with the people they used to give sleepless nights.

Such is life, even in your line of duty, be good to everyone, you will meet the same people on your way down.

Before Yours Truly signs off, it can only be proper to remind each other that in our culture, the dead are presumed good, but it will be extremely difficult for many souls in our beloved city who were tormented by this other departed hoodlum, for them to forget all the nasty things he did to them.

Death is an obvious end to life, but our prayer in this life is that when we still have the energy, let us try to be good to everyone.

That will make the world a better place for us all.
