AFTER representing Zimbabwe in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers during the recent international break, Sakubva-bred defender Onismor Bhasera has shifted focus to the South African domestic league as his team SuperSport United resume their title challenge.

The seasoned left-sided full-back played both games when the Warriors lost 1-0 away to Ethiopia and were held to a goalless draw at home by Bafana Bafana.

He was used in an unfamiliar central defence position.

He returns to club duty today when Matsantsantsa take on AmaZulu in a league duel that kicks off at 5pm.

Bhasera has regained his place in the starting XI and featured in the season’s opening two matches – a 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows and a 0-0 stalemate against Cape Town City.

SuperSport United will be out to maintain their promising start to the campaign and a win today will catapult them to the apex of the table as joint leaders with defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns on seven points.
