ENOUGH is enough!
This was probably the feeling of a 37-year-old Sakubva woman who hauled her lover (23) to court after their relationship had turned sour due to physical abuse.
Spiwe Gorogode told the court that her lover, Timothy Moyana stabbed her with a kitchen knife in a fit of rage and she could no longer stand being turned into a punching bag.
Moyana appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ms Prisca Manhibi charged with domestic violence and was remanded in custody.
Prosecuting, Ms Tinotenda Muzondo said on August 23, Moyana and the complaint were at home when she asked him to give her back the money he owed her.
“This did not go down well with Moyana who assaulted the complaint with fists and kicked her several times all over the body. He went on to stab the complaint with a knife twice on the back of the head,” said Ms Muzondo.
She bled profusely until she fell unconscious and was rescued by her sister who had come for a visit.
Gorogode’s sister made a police report, leading to Moyana’s arrest.
Moyana blamed his violent conduct on beer.
“I was drunk on that day and wanted to sleep, but she kept nagging me. That is when I lost my cool and assaulted her,” he said.
Moyana professed his undying love for Gorogode and her children.
“I am actually planning to marry her and hope that she will forgive me for putting her through that pain,” he said.
Ms Manhibi adjourned the matter to September 6.
