THE battle of soldiers at Sakubva failed to produce a winner after Black Rhinos and Cranborne Bullets played out a goalless draw in this afternoon’s Chibuku Super Cup duel.

Chauya Chipembere squandered the initiative to go in front when their captain Farai Banda missed a spot kick in the second half. There was very little to separate the troops in this derby featuring two army outfits.

The one point shared apiece takes the pair’s tally to four and are tied as group three leaders following last weekend’s victories against Manica Diamonds and Tenax.

Cranborne Bullets coach Nisbert Saruchera was pleased with his team performance.

“I am happy with the way the boys are responding and adapting to the demands of the game at this level. Remember we are just coming from Division One and are still learning. However, we have done well so far. I was satisfied with our performance against an experienced Black Rhinos today,” said Saruchera.

On the other hand, Black Rhinos gaffer Herbert Maruwa had no qualms about Banda’s penalty miss.

“These things (penalty miss) happen in football; we accept it and move on. There are several things we can improve on our game and will work on them as we prepare for the next encounter. We need to be sharp in attack and score goals,” said Maruwa.
