A GANG of six armed robbers struck twice in one night and raided two neighbouring houses on Wednesday night in Rusape’s Ridgemont Park before making good their escape with cash, a car and property.

National deputy police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Blessmore Chishaka confirmed the incidents, saying the robbers – who were armed with two pistols – first pounced on one family before raiding the neighbour and getting away with US$15 000, R2 000, a Honda Fit and four cellphones.

He said investigations were still in progress and no arrests have been made.

In the first case, the robbers struck around 1am and stole a 300AH solar battery, two cellphones and a toy gun.

They then broke into the next house and tied the five occupants with curtains before demanding cash.

The gang stole cash and cellphones before driving away in the belonging to one of the victims.
