HERENTALS Group of Colleges and Schools’ Executive Director of Finance, Mrs Patience Benza added another feather on the group’s growing list of accolades after scooping the Zimbabwe Women Top Business Leader (College of the Year Award).

The award comes barely a month after the group was awarded the Zimbabwe Top Leadership Excellence College of the Year award, while its Mutasa-born Chief Executive Officer, Dr Innocent Dambudzo Benza was named the Zimbabwe Top Business Leader of the Year (Education Development).

The recent awards were organised by the Women’s Heritage Society.

Herentals College management committee member, Mr Kudakwashe Kasian Remba, said: “As a hard worker and committed person in her finance office, Mrs Patience Benza really felt honoured by the nation through her lifetime achievements.

“By being able to allocate resources to the 33 branches and other sister companies that Herentals Group runs is proof that Mrs Benza is doing very well. Herentals Group has retained the Top College Award of the Year for the third time since 2015.”

He added: “Despite being an executive director of Herentals Group, the award is Mrs Benza’s first in her personal capacity, proving that she is doing well in her office through the support of parents, students, staff and management of Herentals.

“We believe in gender equality and support of the girl child as an institution, hence we have several women occupying top management posts who include principals and heads of departments. We also have several girls in the Herentals Prefects Board.

“Mrs Benza is married to Dr Innocent Dambudzo Benza, the core-founder, owner and Group Chief Executive of Herentals Group. This couple support each other, hence scooping these accolades.”

Mrs Benza is also motivated by seeing the young excelling in their education through the conducive environment for learning offered by Herentals Group.

She urged all women to stand on their feet and work hard to bring a difference in the life of Zimbabwean children.

Dr Benza last month retained the Top Business Leader of the Year award (Special Recognition in Education Excellence) for the second year running since 2015.
