DUE to Allied Timbers Zimbabwe Private Limited’s (ATZ) quality product offering and quest to meet the needs of Zimbabwe, the timber giant scooped a Gold Medal and Trophy for the best Zimbabwean Exhibit: Construction, Building and Hardware at the just-ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

The medal and trophy were handed over by His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to ATZ Working Plans Manager, Ms A. Manduna who was representing the company.

While receiving the award, Ms Mandura said it was a well deserved recognition of the ATZ brand as a force to reckon with in its participation in the infrastructural development of Zimbabwe which is in line with Government’s Vision 2030 of an Upper Middle Class Income economy.

“ATZ is grateful for this special recognition which points to the fact that it has a pivotal role to play in the Second Republic of Zimbabwe in terms of infrastructural development,” she said.

She said ATZ has spread its tentacles to all provinces in Zimbabwe to ensure that no area is left behind in terms of the supply of timber and timber related products which resonates well with one of Government’s goals of leaving no one or area behind in terms of development.

The spread is being driven through the distribution network of the Allied Timbers Zimbabwe sales outlets found in the cities of Harare (Msasa, Chitungwiza), Bulawayo, Masvingo and Mutare.

ATZ is a producer, distributor and seller of timber and timber related products both locally and regionally.

The organisation operates in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets.

The timber giant has also set its footprint on the export market where it has built a huge client base in South Africa, Botswana and Zambia.

Apart from this, the export market is also being extended to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and Namibia.

Its products range from the traditional pine timber which also entails the following group of value added products namely, brandering, roof truss, batten doors, mouldings, laminated beams, pressurized treated light and transmission poles which play a pivotal role in the infrastructure development of Zimbabwe.

The products are SAZ certified and sourced from mature timber products derived from a sustainably managed forest certified through Africa Region Standards Organisation (ARSO).

This certification has assisted ATZ to counteract pressure emanating from advocates on global consumerism, whose underlying principle is the purchasing of products from sustainable managed forests.

Apart from this, ATZ is endowed with mature timber which creates a competitive advantage on the local and regional markets.
