THE inclusion of popular local musicians and DJs on the list of performing artistes headlining the Diamond FM Summer Festival will add glamour to the potentially-explosive and highly-hyped jamboree slated for tomorrow (Saturday) at Osborne Dam.
The inclusion of Sulumani Chimbetu, Chillspot trio of Fantan, Ribhe and Levels, In Total and Master H, as well as exciting local performers, WaCharie, Lionel ‘Caff’ Matanda, DJ Marvel, and DJ Mshez will certainly light up the venue with sublime performances.
The event will be held under the theme: ‘Relax, Reset and Roar’.
It is indeed time to cool off for fun-lovers, travel enthusiasts and live music fans, as they gather, merry-make and celebrate life in a potentially intriguing environment, playing host to what has over the years been the major and most attended entertainment episode in the province.
The festival is the brainchild of Diamond FM and ZimParks.
The artistes have promised to put up memorable performances. Dendera artiste, Sulumani Chimbetu, whose last performance in Manicaland was in Juliasdale last October, had this to say: “It is good to be associated with the event, and as Dendera Orchestra Kings, we promise to put up a performance that will linger in the minds of those who will get the opportunity to attend for a long time. As usual, we will not disappoint. We will strum a mixture of old and new songs.”
WaCharie, riding high with a fine album, Chidzorogodo said he is excited to headline the event.
“It feels good to be part of the radio station’s event. We are geared to do our best, and we are urging our fans to come out in their numbers and enjoy the jamboree.”
Formidable Chillspot trio of Levels, Ribhe and Fantan have also promised to ‘shock’ their fans with an electrifying performance.
“It is going to be an exciting weekend. We are coming to Mutare in full force, and we are promising fireworks. There are big things lined up for the event, and it should be noted that we are coming to Osborne Dam with a surprise artiste,” said Fantan.
Levels chipped in: “We are always full of surprises. I am sure this is going to be a memorable outing. The Chillspot Family is ever ready for the event.”
Diamond FM station manager, Jabulani ‘JB’ Mangezi said it is all systems go.
The event is expected to run for the whole day, starting from 10am.
An array of activities lined up to take place at the majestic Osborne Dam include swimming, boat cruise, braai, quad bikes, kids play centre and horse rides.
Besides entertainment, the event also serves as a platform for people to mix and mingle, while those selling their products are expected to smile all the way to the bank.
