THE Year 2020 can aptly be summed up as unique.

We all watched the Covid-19 pandemic dictating and determining a number of activities, disrupting calendar events and ushering in new and unfamiliar lifestyles.

Most notably, there was the development of new crime trends.

Just as we saw the loosening of some of the tight knots binding human activity, the disease assumed new dimensions that have seen the nation springing into responsive action.

While some of the crimes of concern took a downward swing, some criminals found ways of reaping from the conditions proffered by the lockdown period in an endeavour to keep their heinous trade alive.

It is for this reason that the police call on the public to keep the same level of vigilance and cooperation seen during the greater part of the lockdown period as we now enter the 2020 festive season.

This instalment begins a series of many others to come as we avail details of police stations serving your locality. The goal here is to heighten attention to the need for caution and alertness as we anticipate larger gatherings and more activities during the festive period.

This will enable every one of us to be able to reach out to the police for assistance and general information whenever need arises.
