100 delegates for CSR business conference

MORE than 100 business delegates from across the country are gathered in Nyanga for the 3rd annual responsible business summit Zimbabwe which seeks to confront economic, social, environmental and political challenges bedevilling the country.

The three-day conference is jointly hosted by CEO Africa Roundtable and Corporate Social Responsibility Network Zimbabwe.

CSR Zimbabwe president Mr Willard Razawo said it was  important that stakeholders come together to confront the economic, social, environmental and political challenges that Zimbabwe was facing.

Minister of State for Manicaland provincial affairs, Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba is expected to officially open the conference today (Friday).

“This is an overwhelming participation.

“Zimbabwe has embarked on an ambitious economic stabilisation programme to stimulate domestic production, exporting, rebuilding and transforming the economy to an Upper Middle-Income status by 2030.

“Business leaders, government departments and investors ought to come together to drive innovation and come up with best practices in sustainable business and finance in pursuit of holistic and lasting solutions which will create a Zimbabwean economy fit for purpose and one that prospers,” said Mr Razawo.

The conference, organisers of the event said, would bring together renowned practitioners from industry, government and academic researchers from Zimbabwe, Africa and the world to discuss issues pertaining to corporate social responsibility, sustainability and responsible investment in Zimbabwe, Africa and beyond as well as share strategies and solutions that tackle these issues and show that they were leading the change to a sustainable future.
